YONCALLA, Ore. -- North Douglas County Fire & EMS hosted a water ball tournament for staff and students grades 7-12 on May 19.

It is an outreach event that helps to educate students on the opportunities of volunteering in the community, even at a young age.

Students were encouraged to research an explorer program the agency offers for teens ages 14-17.

The high school juniors dominated the tournament, even knocking the staff out of the competition, organizers said.

The juniors took on North Douglas County Fire & EMS firefighters for the title, with the juniors taking a 2-1 victory.
