The 2017 high school football season kicks off this week with all 14 Douglas County teams in action.
Two games are set for Thursday, August 31 with Glide playing at Bandon, while North Douglas travels to Powers.
On Friday, head coach Dave Heuberger begins his 2nd season in Roseburg as the Indians host Gresham; South Umpqua welcomes Mazama; Douglas heads to Valley Catholic; Oakland plays host to the Sutherlin Bulldogs; Glendale is home with Riddle; Reedsport entertains Argyle, British Columbia; Yoncalla travels to Elkton; and Days Creek plays Adrian at the annual Dufur Classic.
Week one wraps up with Camas Valley taking on Powder Valley on day 2 of the 8-man Classic Saturday at 4:00pm at Dufur High School.
