Roseburg's season opener started on a positive note, but it was visiting Gresham that would prevail in the end.

Quarterback Colin Warmouth scored on a 1-yard keeper and threw a 23-yard TD pass to Garrett Russell giving the Indians a 14-0 first quarter lead.

However, the Gophers (1-0) went on to score the final 21 points of the game and hand RHS a 21-14 loss in a non-conference game Friday night at Finlay Field.

Roseburg (0-1) is back in action next Friday at David Douglas.
