South Umpqua upset defending state champion North Bend Friday night in Tri City.

Senior running back Connor Yates scored twice and quarterback William Wylie threw two TD passes to lead the Lancers to the 33-6 win on senior night at Kent Wigle Stadium.

Wylie tossed a 51 yard touchdown pass to Johnathan Warner and a 9 yarder to Chris Martinez. Parker Patterson added another score on 40 yard interception return.

The 7th-ranked Bulldogs (2-1, 6-1) did not get on the scoreboard until the game's final play.

SU improves to 2-1 in the Far West League and 3-3 overall.
