The South Umpqua Lady Lancers were the only team to survive as local softball and baseball teams competed in state playoff games Friday.
Seventh-seeded SU won a thriller, 2-1, over the #2 seed Junction City Friday afternoon to advance to the semifinals as one of Class 4A's final four teams.
The Lancers will face the winner of the North Bend/Henley game on Tuesday, May 29.
Elsewhere, the Glide Lady 'Cats were eliminated by Rainier, 14-4, in the 3A quarterfinals.
North Douglas was also eliminated in a 13-0 loss at Kennedy in the 2A/1A quarters.
In baseball, two Douglas County teams saw their seasons end Friday in the 2A/1A playoffs.
Bandon outlasted Reedsport 2-0 in nine innings and Kennedy defeated Oakland 6-3.
