Dr. Randol jersey 180621ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Roseburg's Dr. Randol's American Legion baseball team picked up a doubleheader sweep Sunday with two wins over Phoenix in Area-4 North action, 5-4 and 12-11.

With the victories, Roseburg improved to 6-2 on the season.

In the opener, Eric Hoque hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to score CJ Gale for the game-winning run. Gale finished 2-for-3 at the plate with 2 runs scored and Hoque 1-for-3 with the big seventh-inning hit.

In the nightcap slugfest, Austin Anderson went 3-for-3 and scored a run; Tanner Lierman and Sam Guastaferro were both 2-for-3.

The Crowns scored 7 runs in the first inning and 4 more in the sixth before a Phoenix comeback made it close in the end.

Up next, Dr. Randol's takes on their local rival, the Pepsi Bottlecaps of Roseburg, in a league twin bill at Legion Field on Friday, June 29. The Bottlecaps are 4-1 overall on the year, 3-1 in league play.

But before that, Pepsi will host North Coos on Wednesday, June 25, and travel to South Coos on Wednesday, June 27.
