SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Two days, two teams, two wins, two losses...and lots of innings.

That was the story for the Roseburg Dr. Stewart's American Legion baseball team following a doubleheader split at Willamette Valley Tuesday night that saw both games go into extra innings.

In the opener, the Docs scored three runs in the top of the 9th to win 6-3. Zack Mandera homered in the victory.

In the nightcap, which also went nine innings, Roseburg lost 3-2 following a game-winning bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 9th.
Jacob Luther had two hits and two RBI in the loss.

Dr. Stewart's now sits at 9-7 in the Area-4 league, 21-16 overall. The Titans are 7-9 in league, 15-21 on the year.

Monday, the Docs saw their 13-game home winning streak snapped against Willamette Valley in Roseburg. The Titans won the opener 3-1 and Roseburg took the nightcap 6-4.

The teams split the regular-season series against each other at 2 wins and 2 losses apiece.

The Docs are back in Area 4 action Saturday, July 21, at home against the first-place Medford Mustangs.

An originally-scheduled game with Salem on Wednesday has been canceled.
