180812 Roseburg Brewers vs DuxSUTHERLIN, Ore. -- The Roseburg Brewers adult baseball team came away with a much needed sweep of the Eugene Dux Sunday at Sutherlin High School.

Roseburg scored in the double-digits in both contests, winning 10-5 and 14-7.

The wins put the Brewers at 9-9 on the season and 4th place in the EMSBL.

In the opener, Nathan Reuben pitched a complete game with 6 strikeouts.

The Brewers racked up 12 hits, led by Tylan Dubois who was 2-for-4 with a 3-run homer and 3 RBI. Willie Baldwin went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI.

The game two starter also pitched a complete game for Roseburg as George Miller struck out 4 Dux hitters.

The bats stayed hot and so did Dubois, going 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Reuben, Ethan Sweeden and Alex Holland all went 2-for-4. Sweeden also had 3 RBI.

The Brewers close out the regular season with their final doubleheader on Sunday, August 26, against the Cubs at Churchill High School in Eugene.

The previous week, the Brewers claimed the lead in the sixth inning of the opening game of a twin bill to defeat the Grays 7-3 on August 5.

"Tom Nielsen's stellar performance clinched the win," the Brewers said. He pitched 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, striking out 9 and walking 1.

The Brewers had 12 hits. Dakota Mathis, Dubois, and Sweeden all racked up multiple hits. Matt Shaver, Nielsen, and Baldwin also had hits in the game.

In the nightcap, Roseburg fell 4-2 despite outhitting the Grays 10 to 9. Josh Carr had another great pitching performance, going 7 innings allowing 9 hits, 4 runs, and striking out 4.

The Brewers racked up 10 hits. Shaver, Holland, and Mike McDowell all had multiple hits, while Baldwin went 1-for-2 with a walk and Mathis added the last hit.
