FOREST GROVE, Ore. -- The South Umpqua volleyball team concluded the 2018 season successfully Saturday with a win over Blanchet Catholic in the 3rd-place match at Forest Grove High School.
The No. 3 seeded Lancers won in straight sets (25-17, 25-18, 25-20) over the No. 5 Cavaliers to take home the trophy.
South Umpqua ends the season with a 19-5 overall record, including a 9-1 Far West League mark.
It was the the first trip to the state tounament for the Lancer volleyball program since 2000.
Santiam Christian faces Cascade Christian, the Lancers' Far West League rival, in the title game at 6 p.m.
