CAMAS VALLEY, Ore. -- The Camas Valley football team is one of two teams left standing in Douglas County prep football.
The No. 8 Hornets (7-1 overall) dispatched county rival Elkton 40-12 in a first-round 1A state football playoff game Saturday afternoon at Camas Valley High School.
Bryson Wolfe had 19 carries for 148 yards and 5 rushing touchdowns for the victors; he was and 8-for-18, 105 yards passing and a touchdown.
Elkton's Austin Luzier was 8-for-16 and threw for 150 yards, including to receiver Mason Cox who had three catches for 94 yards and a touchdown. Jace Billman had a 65-yard kickoff return for a score.
Camas improved to 7-1 while the 9th-ranked Elks (8-2) saw their season come to an end.
The Hornets next face top-ranked Dufur in the quarterfinals. The Rangers (10-0) defeated Bonanza 62-7 to advance.
In other action, Sutherlin was eliminated from the 3A playoffs with a 49-7 loss at Vale.
