OAKLAND, Ore. -- Noah Strempel drained three consecutive 3-pointers and scored 20 points to lead the Oakland boys to a 73-53 win over Illinois Valley in a 2A state playoff game Friday to advance to the state tournament in Pendleton.

Triston Mask, who also hit three from long range, had 15 points for the Oakers and Colton Brownson had 14.

The fourth-seeded Oakers (24-2) advance to a quarterfinal game against No. 5 Knappa Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

In the 3A playoffs, the Sutherlin boys advanced with a 59-39 win over Umatilla.
