ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The Sheldon Irish knocked off first-place Roseburg 6-2 in a Southwest Conference baseball game Tuesday at Legion Field in Roseburg.

The Irish (3-4 SWC) jumped out to a 6-0 lead scoring all six of their runs in the 2nd inning and helped by three Roseburg errors.

The Indians didn't score until their final at-bat in the bottom of the 7th when Luke Van Norman knocked in two runs on his first hit of the game.

Mason Littlefield went 2-for-3 with 2 walks and a run scored.

Doran Gillespie was 2-for-5, Spencer Six 1-for-4, and Jett Black 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Roseburg suffered its first conference loss of the year, falling to 6-1 (9-4 overall), and are now tied for first with South Eugene.

Next, the Indians will try to break the tie with a doubleheader this Saturday at South Eugene. First game begins at noon.
