Two out of four Douglas County teams won their semifinal games to advance to their respective state championships.

The fourth-seeded Umpqua Valley Christian baseball team outslugged No. 1 Knappa 12-10 to advance to the OSAA 2A/1A state title game.

The Monarchs will face No. 3 Kennedy on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Salem-Keizer Volcanoes Stadium.

In softball, ninth-seeded North Douglas defeated No. 20 Lakeview 2-0 to reach the 2A/1A championship.

The Lady Warriors play No. 7 Kennedy for the title at 5 p.m. Friday at the U of O's Jane Sanders Stadium.

Elsewhere, the North Douglas boys lost their baseball semifinal Tuesday to Kennedy, 1-0, and the South Umpqua softballers fell 10-4 to No. 1 Clatskanie in the 3A semis.
