uvc922.jpgCourtney Bush had 14 blocks and Alaina Findlay added 22 assists to lead Douglas to a 25-20, 25-23, 25-16 victory over Brookings-Harbor in a Far West League match Tuesday night in Winston.

"We started a little slow, but really picked things up in game three and played with more consistency," Douglas head coach Carl Bone said. "All in all it was a good win, but we're capable of playing better."

In other Far West League action, South Umpqua was swept in three games by Siuslaw and Sutherlin dropped to 1-1 on the season with a 25-20, 16-25, 13-25, 22-25 loss to North Bend.

"It was a scrappy battle the whole time," Sutherlin head coach Stacy LeFevre said. "We let down a bit in games two and three and started making a lot of bad passes and hitting errors."

Elsewhere, Roseburg beat South Medford in three games. In the Sunset Conference, Glide won its second straight match beating Myrtle Point in five games and Reedsport was blown out by Cascade Christian 25-13, 25-8, 25-7.

In the Mountain View Conference, Senior Elyssa Emel led North Douglas with 12 kills and five blocks and freshman Kassidee Rice had 14 aces and 12 digs in the Warriors four game win over Oakland. 

Also, Riddle dropped to 0-5 in league play with a loss to visiting Monroe.

In the 1A ranks, Umpqua Valley Christian lost at Powers 25-14, 25-17, 25-20.
