Bruce Myers' team is now only one victory away from earning a spot in the 6A State Volleyball Tournament. The Indians will travel to Canby on Saturday.

Roseburg's Courtney Hutchins and Lynsey Johnson combined for 32 assists in the win.

There was one other local team in action Wednesday night as Elkton had its 2008 season come to an end by losing to visiting Jordan Valley in 25-16, 21-25, 25-12, 25-17.

"I start three freshmen and we came out a little nervous,"  Elks head coach Sam Whipple said. "We just kept digging ourselves in a hole."

Besides Roseburg, four other Douglas County volleyball teams are still alive in the postseason. The Douglas Trojans travel to LaGrande, Mountain View Conference Champion Yoncalla plays host to Elgin, North Douglas is at Bonanza and unbeaten Days Creek hosts Sherman. All four games will be played on Saturday, November 1.
