shelby_bay.jpgThe Sutherlin High School softball team beat Cascade 1-0 Tuesday afternoon to advance into the quarterfinals of the OSAA 4A state softball playoffs. The Bulldogs (21-2) face Central on Friday. 

Far West League opponent South Umpqua was eliminated from the postseason after losing at home to Newport 4-3. The Lancers finished the season with a record of 17-6.  

The Riddle Irish stayed alive in the 2A/1A playoffs with a 6-2 victory at Kennedy. The Irish travel to Wallowa on Friday. 

Elsewhere, Roseburg's season came to a close Tuesday after losing to McMinnville 1-0 and in the 3A ranks, Glide was shutout by Willamina 5-0.
