CANYONVILLE, Ore. -- A local fighter is undefeated after winning his second straight mixed martial arts bout in Canyonville Saturday night.

Chaz Gurule is one of four Roseburg-area fighters who competed in matches at Seven Feathers Casino Resort's Fight Night event Saturday night. After pinning Josh Gover (1-1) of Everett, WA, against the cage and the mat in the 145-pound match-up, Gurule (2-0) landed enough punches to force the referee to stop the match in the second round.

Three other local fighters were also in action. Tom Anderson (3-1) picked up his first defeat against Tyrell Butikofer (7-1) of Tigard. Everett's Rob Dyer (9-3) defeated Roseburg's Travis Johnson (2-1) and Irwin Weiser (5-1) of Everett was victorious in his match against Roseburg's Jason Houston (2-1).

The local fighters are representatives of Roseburg fight club organizations House of Pain and Dynamic Full Contact Club.
