The Montana state champs led most of the way, holding a 5-2 advantage after three innings of play. The Docs played a see-saw battle with the Mavericks (66-11), ending with a two-run homer from Roseburg's Josh Graham, which broke a 7-7 tie. The smash proved to be the winning runs as the Docs (32-13) held on for the 9-7 victory. Graham finished the day 3-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored and two RBIs. His home run was his third in the tournament.

Cameron Newell, Mitch Huff and Jered Stoffal each had two hits a piece. Vince Ampi knocked in two runs for Roseburg as well. Huff scored three runs for the Docs.

Roseburg pitcher Dakota Cavens pitched a scrappy game, going the distance to pick up the win. He allowed five earned runs on 10 hits and two walks, while striking out three. dakotacavens_080810.jpg

With the win, the Docs will face off against Kelso, WA, Monday. The Washington state champs eliminated Wausau, WI, in the early game Sunday. Roseburg handed Kelso its first loss of the tournament on Saturday. The Docs are 5-0 in the tourney and hold the upper hand against Kelso, which is 4-1 and will have to beat the Docs twice on Monday to claim the regional title.

The championship game is slated for 1:00PM at Gonzaga University in Spokane. If Kelso wins, a second game will be played at 6:00PM.
