OAKLAND, Ore. -- The Oakland and Days Creek girls basketball teams advanced to the 2A and 1A state tournaments, respectively, with playoff wins Saturday.

The #3-seeded Lady Oakers whipped #14 Toledo 58-23 at home to improve to 24-3 overall. Hadley Brooksby led Oakland with 24 points; Gabby Parnell had 13 and Grace Witten 9.

The Oakers take on #6-seed Heppner in the quarterfinals at Pendleton High School on Thursday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

In the 1A playoffs, the #13-seeded Days Creek girls scored an upset win over #4-seed Country Christian, 68-61.

The Lady Wolves (18-9) face #12-seed Damascus Christian (25-3) in Baker City on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

Also in the 1A playoffs, Damascus Christian eliminated North Douglas, 36-25, and Elkton lost to Jordan Valley, 48-38.
