dhs_111510_026.jpgThings went sour for the Sutherlin Bulldogs following an onside kick recovery to open the contest in Winston against the Douglas Trojans.  It was all Douglas after that though as the Trojans led it 34-6 at the half and the Bulldogs never threatened as Douglas knocked off second-ranked Sutherlin 53-22 Friday night.

With the win, the Trojans moved into second place in the Far West League.

In Brookings-Harbor, South Umpqua let a five-point halftime lead slip away in a 60-34 loss to the Bruins.

Senior quarterback Josh Kennedy had a big game for the Lancers (0-3, 2-5) throwing for 292 yards and four touchdowns.

SU wide receiver Austin Marsh had seven catches and a pair of touchdowns; and David Huling caught TD passes of 60 and 57 yards.   

Oakland's big Mountain View Conference showdown with Monroe wound up with the Dragons breathing all the fire in a 40-7 win over the Oakers; Yoncalla lost to Oakridge 42-20; Crow slipped by Riddle 16-14; and Days Creek forfeited its game with North Douglas.

Elsehwere, Glide shutout Bandon 28-0; Reedsport beat Myrtle Point 44-20; Elkton scored all of its points in the first quarter in a 54-6 win over North Lake; and Camas Valley beat Butte Falls 56-6.
