rhs_fb_westlinn2.jpgRoseburg will play its first road game of the postseason when the Indians travel to Aloha on Friday for a quarterfinal matchup in the OSAA class 6A football playoffs.

The Metro League champion Warriors are ranked third in the state and enter the game with an overall record of 10-1, including nine straight victories.

"They're an up and coming program that's loaded with an abundance of fast and talented athletes," Roseburg head coach Thurman Bell said. "Aloha has three very good running backs to go along with a big offensive line."

The sixth-ranked Indians (10-1) are coming off a pair of playoff wins at Finlay Field. On September 12, they opened with a 42-28 victory over Grant and then, beat West Linn 12-7 last Friday.

"One week it's the offense and the next week it's the defense, but we just keep figuring out ways to win," Bell said. "Anytime you're practicing on Thanksgiving morning, that's an indication that you're part of a pretty good football team."

The other quarterfinal matchups include Jesuit (10-1) at Hillsboro (8-3); Tualatin (11-0) travels to South Salem (8-3); and Sheldon (11-0) hosts Lake Oswego (9-2).
