North Medford's Nate Becksted has resigned after just seven games as the school's head football coach.

The first-year head coach announced the decision on Wednesday. Assistant coach Tom Powell will take over the program on an interim basis for the remainder of the 2011 season.

The Black Tornado is 1-4 in league and 1-6 overall, including four losses of at least 50 points.

Becksted replaced Jeff Olson, who resigned last November after five seasons.
