Nine local basketball teams play games this weekend in the OSAA state playoffs.

Umpqua Valley Christian (18-8) travels to McKenzie; and Elkton (21-4) hosts Hosanna Christian on Friday.

Three Mountain View Conference teams also play Friday night including #1 Days Creek (23-3) at home against #8 Lost River (9-18); #2 North Douglas (22-4) hosts #7 Neah-Kah-Nie (13-12); and #5 Yoncalla (13-11) travels to #4 Knappa (24-2).

Glide (17-7) opens the 3A playoffs at Valley Catholic (22-4).

There are three girls games on Saturday as top-seeded Elkton (19-3) hosts  Dayville-Monument in a 1A playoff game; #2 Riddle (23-2) entertains #7 Weston-McEwen (12-13) in a 2A battle; and #5 Yoncalla (15-10) plays at #4 Gold Beach (11-10).
