Six local basketball teams are headed to the state tournament.

Days Creek and North Douglas each earned a spot at the boys 2A championships; while Elkton is headed to the 1A tourney in Baker City.

Riddle, Yoncalla and Elkton qualified on the girls side.

The Wolves (24-3) defeated Lost River 56-52; North Douglas (23-4) downed Neah-Kah-Nie 58-50; and the Elks (22-4) upended visting Hosanna Christian 51-38.

The Riddle girls beat Weston-McEwen 62-49; Yoncalla will join the Irish at the 2A event in Pendleton thanks to its 44-39 win at Gold Beach; and 1A Elkton beat Dayville-Monument 43-39.

Elsewhere, Glide had its season come to an end with a 57-45 loss at Valley Catholic; Yoncalla was blown out by Knappa 86-47; and UVC lost to McKenzie 64-44.

All six local teams lost their regional play-in games on Friday night.

Phoenix was too much for South Umpqua 62-30; top-ranked Mazama got by Sutherlin 50-43 and Roosevelt beat Douglas 67-63.

On the girls side, Henley shutdown Sutherlin 38-8; Crook County blew out Douglas 62-17; and Roseburg was beaten by Redmond 57-46.
