Roseburg capped a successful season with a first-place finish in the girls 4X400 meter relay during the final day of the 6A state championships in Eugene.

The team of Madison Cavens, Jenna Sandling, Hannah Russo and Kelly Audiss ran the race in a time of 3:54.42. That was just .02 of a second in front of second place St. Mary's.

Audiss also took second in the 400 meters as the Indians finished in fifth place in the team standings.

Three local athletes won individual titles at the 3A/2A/1A state meet in Monmouth.

Glide's Maggie Eddings captured the 3A girls javelin with a throw of 131-02; Reedsport's Lindsey Wright won the 2A long jump and finished second in the high jump; and Jessica Johns of Canyonville Christian Academy took top honors in the 2A shot put.  

Team titles went to Jesuit (6A); Summit (5A); Newport (4A); St. Mary's (3A); Reedsport (2A); and Damascus Christian (1A).
