The top two honors in District 4 baseball belong to Umpqua Valley Chrsitian.

Senior Jacob Lum was selected as the 'player of the year' and David York was named the league's top coach in 2011. The Monarchs (10-2, 16-12) captured the District 4 title, but were eliminated by Heppner in the first round of the 2A/1A playoffs.

Two other UVC players joined Lum on the first team including freshman Jake Forrester (P); and junior Perry Tilton (C).

Rounding out the squad were North Douglas High's Garrett Jenkins (P), Brent Whipple (1B), Austin Potter (IF), Jay Davis (OF) and Noah Miller (U); Travis Sherman (IF) of Oakland; Yoncalla's Colton Kingery (IF); Days Creek's Devin Muir (C) and David Acevedo (OF); sophomore Erik Rogers (DH) of Riddle; and Glendale's Bresnan Williams (OF).

Four Glide Wildcats were named first team all-league in the 3A Sunset Conference.

The honorees were sophomore Brenden Fricke (P); freshman Cory Finlay (IF); junior Tyler Gordon (OF); and sophomore Brandon Halter (OF).
