Three Douglas County athletes competed at the National Junior Olympics in Wichita, Kansas.

Roseburg's Ryan Foster placed fifth in the javelin with a personal best of 144' 9"; and two-time state champion Korey Smith placed fourth in the 400 meter hurdles (54.96). 

Douglas freshman Jacklynn Navarro tied for 14th overall in the pole vault with a height of 2.15 meters (7.00.50').

The event took place July 28-31.
