The 2011 Northwest Regional single-A American Legion baseball tournament began Friday, August 5 at Legion Field in Roseburg.

Premier Insurance (18-14), the host team, lost to Laurel, Montana in the first round by a 13-3 tally. Roseburg will play the final game of the day on Saturday against Lewiston, Idaho at 7:30PM.

Hyrum, Utah beat Wheatland, Wyoming 5-4; South Anchorage, Alaska defeated Lewiston, Idaho 9-2; and Oregon State champion La Grande downed Coeur d' Alene, Idaho by a score of 10-2.

The championship game will be played on Tuesday, August 9.
