Cam Simmons smacked a game winning two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning as Hyrum, Utah beat Laurel, Montana 6-5 to capture the 2011 'A' American Legion baseball Northwest Regional championship Tuesday afternoon at Legion Field in Roseburg.

Trace Hansen and Jordan Rose three hits apiece as the Trappers finished the tournament a perfect 5-0.

Catcher Ryan Caron had three hits and scored a pair of runs for the Dodgers.

The victory marked the second time Hyrum had defeated Laurel at the five-day event. On Sunday, Utah beat Montana 12-2.
