The state of Minnesota is home to the best American Legion baseball team in the country.

Eden Prairie overcame last year's World Series championship loss to Oklahoma by edging Tupelo, Mississippi, 5-4 in 13 innings to capture the 2011 title August 16 in Shelby, North Carolina.

The other teams at this year's event were Midland, Michigan; Las Vegas, Nevada; Brooklawn, New Jersey; Waipahu, Hawaii; Gaffney, South Carolina; and Bedford, New Hampshire.  

At the 2010 World Series in Spokane, Washington, Eden Prairie eliminated Roseburg Dr. Stewart's by a score of 6-2.
