Eight Douglas County football teams play their season openers on Friday, September 2.

Roseburg begins the 2011 campaign with a road game at Oregon City; 4A state runner-up Douglas travels to Cottage Grove; Sutherlin hosts North Valley; Reedsport plays at Lost River; North Douglas entertains Creswell; Glendale welcomes St. Mary's; 2A Oakland travels down I-5 for a matchup with 3A Rogue River; and Camas Valley begins its quest for a 1A title against Crane.

There are three Saturday games on the schedule with South Umpqua playing Newport at Hillsboro Stadium; Riddle battles Neah-Kah-Nie at Willamette University in Salem; and Elkton plays Echo at the 8-Man Classic in Dufur.
