Local sports fans will have a unique opportunity to watch one of the state's top eight-man football teams play a non-league game on Saturday night at Finlay Field.

Camas Valley (2-0) hosts King's Way Christian, WA (1-0) in a 6:00PM contest on the turf at Roseburg High School.

"This will be our third straight game away from Camas playing at different venues and dressing in new locker rooms," head football coach Eli Wolfe said. "Our goal is to play a couple of games on turf in the state playoffs, so we're hoping this matchup will help us in the end."

Through the first two games, the Hornets have averaged 53 points and nearly 430 yards of total offense. Camas opened the season with a 46-0 win over Crane; and a 60-12 victory at McKenzie.

"This team plays fast and furious and they're an easy group of kids to support," Wolfe said. "If people have never seen an eight-man game, they'll be surprised at the quality of athletes at this level."

King's Way, a private school in Vancouver, Washington, won its season opener 36-0 over Sunnyside Christian.
