A Far West League batttle between county rivals Douglas and Sutherlin is one of the key games during week eight of the high school football season.

The eighth-ranked Trojans (2-1, 5-2) are in third place behind Siuslaw and North Bend and need a win to have any chance of winning a league title. The Bulldogs (1-2, 3-4) are coming off a 42-6 home loss to North Bend.

Nine other local teams are in action Friday night as seventh-ranked Roseburg (3-2, 5-2) heads to North Medford (1-4, 1-6); South Umpqua (0-3, 3-4) tries to snap a three-game losing skid when the Lancers welcome Brookings-Harbor; Glide (0-0, 1-5) hosts a Sunset Conference game with Bandon; Reedsport is at Myrtle Point; and Elkton (1-3, 2-5) entertains North Lake.

First place in the Mountain View Conference is at stake as Oakland (5-0, 7-0) makes a road trip to Monroe (4-0, 5-0); Riddle (2-3, 3-4) plays host to Crow (2-3, 4-3); Yoncalla (0-5, 0-6) is in Oakridge; and Days Creek (3-3) travels to McKenzie.

Unbeaten Camas Valley (4-0, 7-0) plays a Saturday road game in Butte Falls.
