The Umpqua Community College Riverhawks were eliminated by Yakima Valley Friday in the loser's bracket of the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges' championship tournament at Mt. Hood Community College.

Umpqua lost a straight set match 25-15, 21-25, 15-9 to YVCC. It was the Riverhawk's second straight loss in the tourney following an opening round win against Highline.

Earlier in the day, UCC lost in straight sets to Blue Mountain Community College 25-15, 25-12, 25-15. 

In the opening round Thursday, the Riverhawks defeated Highline Community College in four games (25-15,19-25,25-22,25-18). The appearance marks the first time Umpqua has had a volleyball team in the playoffs since the 1990s.Kendahl Weiland had 13 kills, 12 digs and two aces for UCC; Jennifer Lakin had 20 digs in the victory.
