The Roseburg Indians are playing in the Class 6A quarterfinals following a 48-7 whipping of fellow Southwest Conference foe South Medford on the road, exacting revenge on the Panthers (9-2 overall) who beat the Indians in Roseburg during the regular season.

The Indians (9-2) will play Lake Oswego next Friday, November 25, in a quarterfinal matchup on Thanksgiving weekend.

The Camas Valley Hornets continue to steamroll through Oregon's class 1A eight-man football ranks. The Hornets took care of fifth-seeded Dufur 60-0 Saturday afternoon in a game broadcast live here at DouglasCountySportsOnline.

Undefeated Camas Valley (12-0) will take on conference foe Triad (10-1) next week in the semifinals. Triad kept the game close back on October 1, but the Hornets' big fourth quarter resulted in a 48-6 road win.

The Hornets have outscored their opponents this season by a total of 766-86. That averages out to 64 points for the Hornets to seven for oppinents. CVHS is two victories away from its first state championship since 1990. Camas lost last year's title game to St. Paul.

In the class 2A ranks, the Oakland Oakers trailed 6-0 for much of the game, but came back to upend the Monroe Dragons 14-6 in a quarterfinal playoff game in Oakland Friday night. The Oakers (11-0) advance to the semifinals with a game against Gold Beach or Regis. The game marked a rematch between the two Mountain View Conference rivals, with the Oakers staving off an upset-minded Monroe (9-2).

Douglas County's remaining class 4A team, the Douglas Trojans, couldn't mount much of an offense against the Elmira Falcons, falling 35-7 in a quarterfinal playoff Friday night. It was the second time Elmira had beaten the Trojans this season. Douglas ends the year with an 8-4 overall record.
