Quarterback Ryan Dancer threw four touchdown passes and ran for two other scores to lead Camas Valley to a 66-22 win over Perrydale in the OSAA 1A football state championship game Saturday afternoon at Cottage Grove High School.
The Hornets (14-0) scored 40 points in the first half and finished the game with more than 700 yards of total offense to capture the school's first title since 1990.
Richard Andreas caught six passes for 215 yards and two TD's, while junior Eli Wolfe led the team in rushing with 139 yards.
Dancer hooked up with Andreas on a pair of first quarter scores (80 and 68 yds) to give Camas a 14-0 lead. The top-ranked Hornets took a 40-22 advantage into the break and outscored the Pirates 26-0 in the second half.
Perrydale finished the season with an overall record of 11-2.
Four other champions were crowned on Saturday as 5A Mountain View beat Sherwood 14-13; 4A La Salle Prep downed Siuslaw 45-40; 3A Santiam Christian upended Dayton 31-28; and 2A Gold Beach beat Scio 30-0.
In the 6A semifinals, Sheldon got by Central Catholic 18-9; and Lake Oswego downed Jesuit 21-13.
