Five county athletes and one head coach have been named to the Oregonian's 2011 all-state volleyball teams.

Roseburg's Vanessa Bentley was a Class 6A first team selection after posting 900 assists and 240 digs on the season. Last month, the junior setter was named the Southern Oregon Conference's player of the year.

Joining Bentley were Martenne Bettendorf of Central Catholic (POY); Aloha's Amy Boswell; Clackamas senior Kelsie Christensen; Megan McCool of Jesuit; and junior Caitlin O’Neil from West Linn.

The Class 2A all-state teams were littered with local players and Days Creek's Ron Dunn was tabbed coach of the year after guiding the Wolves to the state title.

First team honorees were Reedsport's Eden Huebner; Kassidee Rice of North Douglas; and Days Creek's Isabel Golemon and Nicole Ellis.

Reedsport teammates Monica Vaughn and Susi Martinez were second team selections.

Meanwhile, North Douglas senior Sierra Campbell and Reedsport junior Taylor Lewis made the third team.
