su_cheer2012a.jpgNorth Douglas captured the 2012 OSAA small school cheerleading championship Saturday afternoon in Portland.

The Warriors (54.33) outpaced second-place Clatskanine (50.73) by more than three points to win the 3A/2A/1A title. Oakland (45.23) took fifth, while Canyonville Christian (41.48) finished in ninth place.

Elsewhere, the South Umpqua squad fell short in its bid for the 4A large crown finishing in second place behind state champion Sweet Home; and Sutherlin ended up in ninth place in the coed division.

Other winners included Tualatin (6A/5A Large); Westview (6A Small); Wilson (5A Small); and North Marion (4A Small).
