eric_thompson.jpgFormer Roseburg High basketball star Eric Thompson has just completed a successful freshman season at Southern Oregon University in Ashland.

The 6'7" forward was named to the 2011-12 All-Cascade Collegiate Conference team after averaging nearly 19 points per game. He also broke the school's freshman scoring record with 587 points.

The 23-year old RHS graduate played four seasons in the Los Angeles Dodgers' minor league system after being drafted in the 23rd round of the 2006 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.
