Sutherlin kept its perfect season alive with a 41-38 win over Cascade during the opening round of the OSAA 4A girls basketball state tournament at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis.

Kelsey Hill's driving layup with just over 30 seconds left in the game gave the Bulldogs a 39-38 lead. Lainey Corbett added a pair of free throws as Sutherlin (27-0) hung on for the three-point victory.

Hill finished with a game-high 22 points; Miranda Mendenhall added seven points and Kylee Carson finished with six points. 

The defending state champion Cougars were led by freshman Alix Biddington's 16 points.

Next up, Sutherlin takes on Banks in a semifinal game set for Friday at 6:30PM.
