sutherlin_girls2012.jpegSutherlin's perfect season came to an end with a 41-35 loss to Henley in the OSAA 4A girls basketball championship game Saturday night in Corvallis.

The Bulldogs (28-1) fell behind 9-0 to start the game and held the lead just one time in the entire contest when freshman Ricki Mock hit a layup with 2:07 remaining in the first half to give Sutherlin a 21-19 advantage.

The game was tied at 28 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Hornets (25-4) outscored the Far West League champions 13-7 in the final eight minutes.

Henley's Elle Morgan led all scorers with 19 points, while Miranda Mendenhall had 10 points for Sutherlin.
