Roseburg javelin thrower Selmar Hutchins III currently has the second-best mark in the country this season.

In March, the 5-foot-9, 194-pound senior beat his personal best by more than 16 feet with a throw of 207 feet, 7 inches during a meet at Grants Pass High School. It's also the 13th best throw in the state's history.

Oregon City's Beau Brosseau is ranked second with a throw of 194' 7".

Hutchins, who finished fifth at the last year's Class 6A state meet, is also ranked third in the discus.
