South Umpqua moved into sole possession of first place in the Far West League thanks to its doubleheader sweep over Douglas.

Tylar Blansett pitched a six-hitter in a 3-2 victory in game one and teammate Cameron Reese gave up just four hits over seven innings in an 8-0 win in the nightcap. Connor Clack provided the offense in game two with a grand slam.

Sutherlin kept pace with the Lancers by sweeping Brookings-Harbor 7-4 and 11-10.

Wyatt Jones hit a grand slam and Beau Grauf added a homer in the opener.
