A pair of Reedsport golfers are at or near the top of the leaderboard after day one of the OSAA state championships.

Montana Frame shot an even par 72 and is tied for the lead at the 3A/2A/1A tournament in Banks. As a team, the Braves sit in seventh place after 18 holes. 

Reedsport junior Monica Vaughn recorded a one-over-par 73 and is just two strokes off the lead. The Braves are tied for seventh in the team standings, while Sutherlin is sixth.

The Roseburg girls are eighth among twelve teams at the 6A championships in Corvallis.

Elsewhere, Roseburg's Drew Groshong (+12) carded an 84 during his opening round at Creswell's Emerald Valley; South Umpqua's Chuck Moore is tied for ninth place at the 4A tournament; and the Sutherlin boys team are seventh after the first day of competition.
