A pair of Reedsport golfers completed a successful run at the OSAA state championships on Tuesday.
Junior Monica Vaughn (+3) was the runner-up at the 4A/3A/2A/1A championships finishing three strokes behind Henley's Kaitlin Collom. The Sutherlin girls (Brooke Spencer, Karly Powell, Ashley Mooney, Bethany Spelgatti and Britnee Trullinger) captured third place edging out Seaside by a single stroke, while Reedsport finished sixth in the team standings.
Montana Frame (+3) carded a three over par 75 on day two and took third at the 3A/2A/1A tournament in Banks. The Braves finished sixth out of 14 teams in the overall standings.
South Umpqua's Chuck Moore (+13) shot a 77 on Tuesday and finished in sixth place at the Class 4A tournament at Quail Valley Golf Course in Banks. The Sutherlin boys (Tyler Franke, Jeff Burcham, Austyn Liles, Jaden Shelton and Matt Tew) ended up eighth in the team competition; and Roseburg's Drew Groshong (+24) finished tied for 46th place after back-to-back rounds of 84 at Creswell's Emerald Valley.
The RHS girls team of Kiana Cash, Clare Dittemore, Ashlynn Persing, Alexis Horn and Kayla Epperly shaved 23 strokes off their opening round score and took sixth at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis.
