Graham_CatcherFor the second consecutive season, Roseburg has fallen one game shy of playing for the Class 6A baseball state championship.

On Tuesday, Rilyn Lewchuk gave up just three hits over seven innings as Oregon City eliminated the top-ranked Indians 2-1 at Legion Field.

The Pioneers (19-11) took a 1-0 lead in the opening inning before RHS tied it in the fourth on an RBI double by Josh Graham. In the top of the fifth inning, Cary Swalwell reached base on a fielding error and would eventually come around to score the game-winning run.

Jared Priestley took the loss despite giving up only four hits and one earned run while striking out seven batters.

Roseburg finishes the season with an overall record of 24-3.

Elsewhere, Glendale beat Gold Beach 20-4 and will play Heppner on Friday for the Class 2A/1A state championship.
