Douglas High School softball player Sadie Birch was named to the Class 4A all-state second team.

The junior infielder was also a first team all-league selection after helping the Trojans win the 2012 Far West League championship. Teammate Nicki Spurlin (U) was an honorable mention all-state selection.

Four Sutherlin players also made honorable mention led by Chey Malinoff (P), Shannon Sloniker (IF), Kelsea Knee (IF) and junior Kylie Atterbury (OF).

The Class 3A all-state first team was littered with Glide Wildcats.

Seniors McKenzie Shrum (P) and Kelsey Jeffries (IF) along with junior Alexa Evans (OF) were recognized by coaches from across the state.

Second team honors went to sophomores Amanda Hatley (C) and Jordan Parazoo (1B).

Three Wilcats were honorable mention including Heather Graham (P), Kerstyn Hart (IF) and Hayley Livingston (U).
