Roseburg earned a split in its first Area 4 doubleheader of the 2012 'AAA' American Legion baseball season.

Mike Morin gave up six hits over six-plus innings of work and Noah Miller recorded the final two outs as the Docs (1-1, 4-5) beat Eugene 4-1 in game two. Joey Bell had a two-run single for Roseburg.

The Challengers (1-1, 12-3) took the opener 9-3.

Next up, Dr. Stewart's will play a non-league doubleheader Thursday afternoon in Springfield.
