The Class 6A state champion in the javelin will throw for a Division I college next season.

Roseburg High School's Selmar Hutchins III has decided to attend Portland State University in the fall.

Hutchins won the state title in May with a throw of 198-10 and has a personal best of 207-7. He also finished fourth in the discus.

The 2012 RHS graduate was also a standout in football and wrestling.
