Dr. Stewart's jumped out to a six-run lead and held on for a 7-5 win over Grants Pass during game two of their 'AAA' American Legion baseball doubleheader Friday night.

David Irvine had a two-run single and Noah Miller hit a solo home run as the Docs (4-8, 16-20) earned a split with the Area 4 leading Nuggets. Starting pitcher Brian Middleton picked up the victory.

Grants Pass (9-3, 34-6) made quick work of Roseburg during the opening game with an 11-1 win in five innings.
